Grow Your Business with BUD

I first heard about BoutiqueUp! Daily (BUD) on HARO a few months ago, and man, if I were still selling Swaddleaze & Blankeaze, I would be ALL OVER it! :)

For those of you who are “product moms”, BUD is the coolest (and probably the fastest) way for you to get your product into retailers. BUD offers a newsletter with retailers & bloggers who are looking for products AND sellers can list their products for possible pick-up by retailers. It’s like eHarmony for retailers & products!

BUD also offers some great free business services, like eClasses, press release writing and much more.

If you sell a product, you need to BUD! :)

I had the opportunity to interview Lisa Otto, the founder of BoutiqueUp! Daily and here’s what she had to say:

TMM: Hey Lisa…tell us a bit about yourself & how you got started.

LO: I am a medical professional by career, but turned into an entrepreneur in 2005 with the launch of a children’s T-shirt and accessory business. After two years of learning how to run a product-based business from the inside out, I decided to follow my true passion for writing and educating other entrepreneurs. So I sold my business and launched Creative Writing Studios and Boutique Up! Daily. In addition to running two businesses, I’m also the mom of three and a part-time EMT for my community ambulance service!

TMM: What is BUD & how can it help mogul moms?

LO: Boutique Up! Daily (BUD) is really a multi-faceted resource for product moms and moms who own online boutiques and retail stores. Because I know so intimately how difficult it is to get a product picked up by stores, I wanted to create a resource that would help product moms do just that-get their goods into retail locations.

Well, we can’t all start with the ‘big dogs’ like Walmart or Macy’s, and the small to mid size retailer market is huge! So, we focus on those-the smaller retailer- that may be more willing to take a chance on a new product.  BUD offers a newsletter based email that contains listings from retailers, bloggers and others who are looking for new products.

As well, sellers can post about the products they offer for sale and we’ve had many get picked up by retailers who read BUD, and were interested in a product.

Additionally, we offer self-learning resources to help women become stronger, self-sufficient business owners.  Our eClasses bring affordable, easy learning on topics product sellers and business oweners really need to know about, like how to pitch a product effectively or how to ensure thier website homepage isn’t driving customers away!

We also offer wholesale catalogs throughout the year, press release and press kit writing, lots of great articles, interviews and more!

TMM: How can mogul moms connect with you & get started on BUD?

LO: I can be reached at lisa (at) boutiqueup (dot) com, via phone at 1-888-495-1091, or follow me on Twitter under @BoutiqueUp. You can also visit our websites at http://www.boutiqueup.com or http://www.creativewritingstudios.com.

BUD (boutique up daily) has quickly become one of my main marketing venues. Lisa does a fantastic job. Her style is approachable, friendly and confident. I’m especially excited to be in the BUD Valentine’s Catalog which has a wholesale and retail exposure. And, the costs are very reasonable (hope I can say this in years to come ;-)

Thank you so much Heather for sharing this info. I think it is a great opportunity for us “product moms”. I know I can talk about my idea forever, but what I found to be a struggle was to write about it !
Look forward to reaching out to BUD!

I found BUD through Haro too! It seems interesting as some of my business resolutions have to do with wholesale. I tried to email Lisa with a few questions, but I didn’t hear back. So glad you did this post and some people using BUD have posted.

I love BUD. I have used them for several months now and found several of my suppliers through them. I believe I found them through MomPack.
