What is your name & how many children do you have?
Ros Guerrero & I have 1 “special needs” child, Gem, who’s 13 years old.
What’s the name of your company and the inspiration behind it?
Ficklets, LLC; Ficklets are interchangeable adornments for eyeglasses. My daughter, Gem, has worn eyeglasses since she was 7 years old and was the inspiration behind Ficklets.
What is your current business struggle?
Mainly working capital to market and promote, attend tradeshows, etc.
What is your current business goal?
Obtain/increase working capital.
What one quality do you think is a “must-have” for a mom entrepreneur?
There are actually several must-have qualities I constantly pull from:
- Belief in your product/business
- Perseverance even if nothing’s happening
- Maintain realistic Optimism
- Continue to seek Mentorship/Education to incite Inspiration.
What 1 thing or person has been very instrumental in your success?
We’re still in the infant stage, but I credit my husband for handling the technical and administrative aspects of the business initially needed to get the business up and operating.
What are your 3 favorite blogs?
Of course… Mogul Mom, HARO and Build-A-Buzz.
What is your favorite quote?
Not much on quotes, but I do have a plaque on my wall that reads – “DREAM BELIEVE DISCOVER”… it reminds me to think big and go for it!
What advice would you give to a new mom entrepreneur?
Take the first step despite the challenges and obstacles, it’s all a part of building a business. Taking the initial step is always the most difficult and most frightening.
