Cynthia Poblete of The Diaper ClutchWhat is your name & how many children do you have?

My name is Cynthia Poblete and I have three children. Two boys and little baby girl born just 4 short months ago!

What’s the name of your company and the inspiration behind it?

The name of my company is The Diaper Clutch. After my oldest son was born in 2005, I opened up an online boutique called The Baby Panda. It carries mostly Asian-inspired clothing and accessories for infants and children. I came across a lot of mom-made products during my search for inventory. I saw a lot diapers and wipes carrying cases and thought “How cute!” While they did their job keeping my diapers and wipes neat within my diaper bag I wanted to take the convenience one step further. I found it a hassle to access the wipes so I thought about how I could make it easier. I came up with the easy access window after hours and hours of brainstorming! At the time, I was using the Huggies disposable soft pack with hard top cover. The Diaper Clutch was designed around the Huggies brand but most any brand will work.

What is your current business struggle?

My current business struggle is probably both time and marketing. I spend a lot of time producing the diaper clutches myself so there’s not a lot of time left for marketing. Its been a struggle getting the word out about the diaper clutch.

What is your current business goal?

My current business goal is to increase site traffic and sales.

What one quality do you think is a “must-have” for a mom entrepreneur?

Desire and drive as well as great time management skills! Building a business takes a lot of hard work. There are ups and downs so you must have the desire to press on even through the rough times. And of course, with all of the time involved, you’ll have to learn how to manage your family life and business life.

What 1 thing or person has been very instrumental in your success?

Help from friends and family.

What are your 3 favorite blogs?

The Mogul Mom

Mamaista

What is your favorite quote?

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

What advice would you give to a new mom entrepreneur?

Build a relationship with a network of other mom entrepreneurs. Who better to share your ups and downs? Having other moms that you can bounce ideas off of and get honest advice from will help you both learn more about the business.
