• “Finding it difficult to stay focused, not bash myself with recriminations and stop worry from blocking my creativity.”
• “I know I am looking for retail opps but do I need a rep or should I do it myself? Should I find a new manufacturer or invest in new styles of fabric? • “My biggest business frustration would actually be two things…getting the word out there and production. I am starting my third year and I feel like I should be a little further along than I am.”
• “You want the “biggest” frustration? Hard to say the one biggest as there are many! I would say that at times I feel I am “spinning my wheels” and not putting my energy in the right place. I am a gal with tons of ideas and but NO business background! I My web designer went out of business in the middle of putting together my current site so now it is not SEO and I am not getting “found” by anyone looking for cool, unique gifts!”
• “I honestly don’t know what I’m spending, where I’m spending it and what I could be spending to increase sales. I am all over the place with finances! I guess my biggest problem is budgeting.”
• “My frustrations are many, but today’s dilemma is actually getting my products produced and then marketing those products — which comes first? Right now, no one knows they exist. Do I market first and wait to see if anyone even wants the product? Or do I spend the money to have 100 items produced first, then hope I market them well enough that I don’t end up with 100 items sitting in my garage gathering dust because no one wanted them?”
• “My frustration right now is that I have an invention and a prototype, but I don’t know what the next step would be to bring this thing into life! I’ve done research, but there are a lot of conflicting sources and I’m unsure of who is “right”.”
• “My biggest frustration is getting my children’s line into boutiques. I keep hearing, “Love your stuff, but please call me back in 2 weeks.” So frustrating!”
• “The most recent frustration amongst juggling 3 kiddos is advertising/marketing and whether to get a publicist. There are just so many avenues- magazines, online opportunities, radio, etc. I can go on and on. Now, which do I choose? How much money should I invest -what is reasonable?”
• “My biggest business frustration(s) are deciding how & where to market my social justice & eco-friendly t-shirts. I love doing the design, but the marketing & sales are not my strong suit! Do I hire a rep? Try to do it myself?”
