Doing better about goal setting and recording them than previous years. Wrote my goals down over a week ago, but missed one area — family. I didn’t write it down because it’s always been #1 for me and don’t have problems carving out time for family. Haven’t perfected the family vs. business balance by no means, but definitely make a conscious effort to give quality time for family. I think the main reason it comes natural for me is that I devoted solely the first 10-12 years caring for my mentally disabled child. Her needs are ongoing, so there’s no time to let up really. To be quite honest, I have no problem giving myself a “break”. I’m not very productive or creative when I feel burnt out. My husband says I get cranky. =) Lucky for him, I know when I need a “time-out”.

With all that said, I’m writing down my family goals as well. I should know better–it’s vital and smart to put goals down on paper, ALL goals. Remembering tip #3!

P.S. Still don’t get “followup comments via e-mail”. Any idea why?

Hi Heather…keep the tips coming. I like the new background it’s better than the window. Voulez vous apprendre le français?

Tracy!
Oui, je parle francais – j’etude (?) le francais pour huit ans mais j’oublias (?) beaucoup. :)

Yes, this background is much better than the window – I was forced to do go up into my finished attic to shoot some of them because my 3 kids were acting crazy!!

Thanks (Merci!),
Heather

Hi Heather! I have been enjoying your ideas and the video tips too. Thank you!
Here’s another goal setting trick: When you make a goal, besides being achievable and specific, have a back-up plan on the front end. Studies show goal achievers, compared to non-achievers, had better success because they thought about their contingency plans on the front end. For example, if you plan to exercise Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, build in a plan to exercise Saturday morning if you miss one of those days!
Cheers to all of our success!
